Spring is Almost Here
God’s been teaching me a lot on leadership, life, and falling in love with Him!
Craig Groeschel from LifeChurch.tv in Oklahoma is one of my favorite leaders to listen and learn from. Recently I heard him talk about the “winter” season of life. He made the statement that before you ever get to spring and all the beauty it possesses you must go through winter. In winter, even though it’s not an easy time, lay your roots so in spring your hard work can blossom.
It’s been a season of winter for me. How about you? I’ve been praying and earnestly seeking him to lay the roots that will bring forth beauty that reflects Him.
Here’s a lovely passage I found. I better hear some stinkin doves!
Song of Solomon 2:11-12
11 See! The winter is past;
the rains are over and gone.
12 Flowers appear on the earth;
the season of singing has come,
the cooing of doves
is heard in our land.
Sold the Honda, MultiSite, Volunteers
I sold my ‘97 Honda CRV today for the FULL asking price! The Honda is my first car I purchased and paid off so it’s a little bitter sweet but I know it will be going to a great owner. I had 15 calls on the car in 1 week and 3 full offers before the callers even saw the vehicle. I’ll miss the fond memories and the picnic table in the back but the ‘07 Camry is proving to be an amazing car esp when it warms up quickly with the freezing cold weather we are having!
So, I’ve got the cash from the car and going to pay off a few things. I would love to upgrade my current 19inch college tv to something a little nicer. I’m good with it but for some reason every male that comes over makes a comment on it. Not that I’m trying to impress the male population but you know I have to agree the TV is looking sad.
Well, it was announced today we are purchasing our old campus back from Anderson Automotive! It will be another campus in Rockford and open up more seating and room for ministry to take place. Now it’s time to think of multisite children’s ministry. I am looking forward to connecting with a few churches on the best way to staff for paid and volunteer teams to reach more families in an effective and creative way!
With this news comes a lot of excitement for our team on what is to come for HK. God is always one step ahead and for a long time I’ve known His plans are BIG for Heartland Kids and so honored to be a part of it.
Volunteer leaders are rising to the top and I love placing people where they are passionate to serve. One new volunteer informed me after service that she is feeling SO called to HK and wants to offer her administration gifts, knowledge and skill she has from her master’s degree in education administration to make the move successful. This is exciting not because of her master’s degree but because of her heart for God and the excitement she has for how God is using her and her strengths for His kingdom work.
As we’ve had a lot of changes in HK recently God led me to the book of Habakkuk and I find great comfort and strength in His words.
3:18 yet I will rejoice in the LORD,
I will be joyful in God my Savior.
19 The Sovereign LORD is my strength;
he makes my feet like the feet of a deer,
he enables me to go on the heights.
I Finally Did It!
Hello friends! I have finally switched over from Xanga to Word Press. I look forward to sharing and connecting with you regarding ministry and life.
Until then…it’s time to sleep.
